Time-critical cardiac emergencies are answered around the clock. Call the cardiac line or refer directly.

- 02Triage classifies urgency within one working hour of referral receipt.
- 03Direct to clinic, or straight to theatre for time-critical cases.
- 04MDT confirms the plan and the referring physician is notified.

For urgent and emergency referrals. Speak directly to an on-call consultant or senior registrar.

What to include
The more information you provide, the faster we can triage and assess your patient.
Patient demographics
Full name, date of birth, contact details and NHS/insurance number where applicable.
Clinical summary
Presenting complaint, diagnosis, relevant medical history and current medications.
Imaging
Echocardiography, CT coronary angiography or cardiac MRI reports. Attach images where possible.
Urgency classification
Indicate whether the referral is routine, urgent or emergency — this determines triage priority.

What happens after you refer
Triage confirmation
You'll receive confirmation of receipt and triage classification within one working hour.
MDT outcome
The multidisciplinary team reviews the case and you'll be notified of the plan — clinic, investigation or theatre.
Ongoing communication
You'll receive updates on your patient's progress, procedure outcomes and follow-up plan.
Discharge summary
A comprehensive discharge summary with medications, follow-up appointments and ongoing care plan.
